Record/Vinyl + Digital Album
Fantastic sounding analogue version of Earthrise with custom edits unique to this format.
A batch of LPs have reversed labels due to an error in the manufacturing process. I'll check before dispatch and let you know if you have one of these rarities. The album would then be played the side labled "Part two" 1st to get the correct sequence, launching first and returning last! :-)

about
This piece illustrates Apollo 11s' Lunar module or LM "The Eagle" orbiting, descending and concluding with the dramatic first ever landing on the Moon.
The opening section is a funky songo groove with catchy vocal parts by Noelle Rollings. The melodic theme is taken by Mike Walker on guitar to convey the impending drama as the fragile Eagle orbits the Moon at great speed heading for the landing site in the "Sea of Tranqulity". The music moves into an intense funky 3/4 groove with unison trumpet and guitar lines which are somewhat Zappa'esque. This section is the descent to the Moon's surface with the emotional intensity rising as the computer gives out 1202 and 1203 alarms meaning the primitive system is overloaded! Seeing that the computer is guiding the ship into a crater full of bolders Mission Commander, Neil Armstrong takes manual control and finds a safe landing site with just 30 seconds of fuel remaining! This drama is conveyed by the music and resolves as the craft sets down on the Moon surface, a baron, cold. lifeless body in the darkness of deep space. The eerie Moon piano passage at the end of the piece soundtracks the scene as Armstrong and "Buzz" Aldrin are the first humans to land on another world! July 20th 1969.
